Have you ever wanted to live and work in Australia? For Filipinos who weren’t able to take up nursing, engineering, or any other in-demand profession back home, this is your chance to live and work in the land down-under.
The Northern Territory has finally opened a pathway for 117 different types of occupations to gain permanent residency after only living within that region for 3 consecutive years. This is a new scheme under the current administration, to funnel migrants away from a swelling Melbourne and Sydney- facing heavy loads of immigration that is overtaking infrastructure growth.
The NT Government, along with the Federal Government have given a list including 117 occupations from child care workers, to welders, to web designers, where they can try and move to the region that will lead to PR in the future. Also, most of the occupations on the list are eligible for English language concession and a Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) concession.

This new scheme called DAMA, which is an acronym for Designation Area Migration Agreements has been announced for two regions in Australia. Namely, Warrnambool region in Victoria, and the Northern Territory, which badly needs a population boost and workers.
From Accountants to cooks, to baristas, This new scheme will give would be migrants a strong incentive to move to the aforementioned regions; especially that this new law, that has officially come to effect on January 1st, 2019, will be providing a path to permanent residency.

Below is a list of the Northern Territory DAMA II occupation list. As for the Warrnambool DAMA list, around 20 occupations will be listed and a full list will be released by the 1st quarter of 2019.
